This guide will walk you through the process of using Voltaire to draft claims letters quickly, letting the AI handle accurate policy language lookup and citation. These include settlement, denial, and partial denial letters.
Getting Started
Step 1: Understand What Voltaire Does for You
You input the item being denied and the reason for the denial, and Voltaire will use AI to draft a letter automatically. Specifically, Voltaire:
- Summarizes claim data.
- Puts all relevant claim data into a flexible template automatically.
- Cites base policy, exclusion, endorsements, or special provisions with pristine output formatting.
Once Voltaire generates the letter, it can typically enter the QA process.
Step 2: Preloading Policies and Endorsements
- Your organization administrator should have preloaded all relevant policies and endorsements. This is a crucial step as it provides the fundamental information Voltaire uses to draft letters accurately.
Drafting a Letter
Step 1: Choose Letter Type and Template
Start: Choose Claim & Letter Options

Select these four fields (in order) to load the correct template and context for your letter:
- Claim ID – The claim you’re working on. This links the letter to the correct file.
- Letter Type – Choose Settlement or Reservation of Rights.
- State – Filters the template list to state-specific versions (if applicable).
- Template – Pick the exact template (e.g., Full Denial, Partial Payment, Coverage Determination, etc.).
Example: Claim ID: 23-001234 → Letter Type: Settlement → State: Florida → Template: Partial Payment (FL)
